Having explored the most popular (and effective) paid advertising strategies in our last series of posts, let's turn our attention to the vast array of free advertising methods. The triple constraint of Internet marketing - Time, Budget and Expertise - equally apply here. The most obvious methods are the free (no-cost) aspects of social media. And to no one's surprise we will start with Facebook. Knowing your target market and avatar(s) is vital. Thus, our focus in on quality not simply quantity of Friends and Members. Internet Digital Entrepreneur suggests creating your own dedicated social media accounts for your business. Facebook limits the total number of Timeline-Home Page "Friends" to 5000 ... so make them count. Second, are Pages. We suggest not only creating your own public page for your business and inviting as many "quality" Friends as possible - by location, age and other key demographics. You can also join asn post to other Facebook members' relevant Pages. The key is "relevant." And third Groups. Most definitely create and manage your own dedicated Group where you control the playing field - as long as you have plenty of fresh, high-value content, but also search Groups to find 4-6 of the largest groups which closely match your target market. Bottom line: You can save alot of time and budget by taking full advantage of pre-existing free tools. Fee-based tools offer one critical benefit: Speed and effort. By contrast, you can surely build a vast audience with free social media tactics ... however, this will take more effort and longer lead-time than paid advertising.
